Are your exhausts too loud?

No problems, this is what to do. (Even if it's Saturday afternoon i Nürburg / Adenau)
Here's the instructions (Click on a picture to see a larger version of it):

First, get the stuff you need
  • two perforated kitchen sink sieves
  • some steel wool
  • a coat hanger (not pictured here, since we hadn't stolen it from the hotel yet)

Remove any old pathetic attempts to silence your bike...

Stuff the steel wool into the silencer. Approx. eight balls of it in each.

Put in some more steel wool, just to be sure.

Finally, unwind the coat hanger, cut it into 15 cm long bits, put the sieves through the holes in both the exhaust and the sieves and twist!
(The hanger, not the sieves.)
Nice result, huh!

Ah! Almost forgot: Get some spectators. They can help and you can borrow tools from them.

The result? A bike not as revv-happy as usual, but quiet enough to sneak past the marshalls at the gates to the local un-restricted toll road.
